Sometimes taking a break can be quite a nuisance, at other times the lack of output can provide the needed silence to fix glaring mistakes once you return back to the work.
I hadn't worked on this arrangement in about 9 months. I was always fond of it, but when I played it through yesterday a couple of parts really didn't sit right at all. All it needed was an hour however, and things were fixed and now I am quite happy. Playing it through with the band this morning cemented it, and it felt close to a final edit.
