Following the spirit of this blog I publish a reworked version of the previous post. I'm happy to share here my working process, with final versions of arrangements taking quite some time in some cases. Sometimes they just need to sit, sometimes they need to be played and sometimes it is a combination of the two.
I feel I am happier now with the flow of the piece. The beginning of the melody especially, did not sit right to me, and was not meshing with the intro. The sus chord works much better, and is a more striking chord than the minor one I had before. I also smoothed out the introduction, and took out the Gm in the last bar of the melody. Let's see where this goes now, once it is played in a band setting.
Note that the second chord of the melody is quite unusual. Listen to the audio for that. It was difficult to know what to call it.
