I had made an arrangement of this classic many years ago, but was never quite satisfied. I felt that despite being an up-tempo piece, it could work in a kind of Neo Soul style - perhaps reminiscent of Robert Glasper and similar musicians. This took a lot of work. The voice leading especially, didn't come the way I wanted to for a long time. Now it is close, but some revisions will surely come once I start playing and performing it. As for all of these, anyone wishing a midi file or audio, just contact me and let me know.
Note the added bar making it 17 bars. There is a kind of rhythmical illusion happening in 12-13. The repeated C#- allows us to feel comfortable with the F- C- coming right after.
